It was the turn of the Minister of Agriculture to make the promise: the government is " of course fully available" to hold a debate in Parliament after the success of the petition against the Duplomb law . This initiative, which has collected more than 1.4 million signatures, " demonstrates an attachment to health and environmental issues, which I fully share," wrote Annie Genevard on Monday, July 21, on the social network X. " It also shows that the French are attentive to what they eat, which I am delighted about as Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty."
Nevertheless, the Minister of Agriculture continues to defend the Duplomb law, which notably reintroduces acetamiprid , an insecticide from the neonicotinoid family. "The parliamentarians adopted a strictly regulated version, based on the opinion of the European Health Reference Agency, precisely to control its scope," she emphasizes. " This bill, a parliamentary initiative, aims to respond to an emergency situation that certain sectors are experiencing and to prevent them from disappearing in the future. A French sector that disappears is a sector that does not reappear," she concludes.
